Splooj is the project of Luke Weyer. He believes the funk is a living creature.
The project began after learning to DJ along the Garden Route and first took real shape in Hanoi, Vietnam with Liquid Hive. Clubs and festivals soon followed, including Mystery Mountain, Gingerworks, Odyssey Tribe and Vibe Nation.
After returning to Cape Town, Splooj reset its roots featuring at Alien Safari, Vortex, Organik and Origin, sharing lineups with both international and local acts.
Signed to Universal Tribe Records, the project continues to explore the spaces where the funk takes on a life of its own.
